Bradley Lifts Alvernia To 1-0 Overtime Win At Anna Maria

Marlborough, MA - Alvernia University (2-3) first year Sydney Bradley scored a goal 1:24 into the first overtime to secure a 1-0 win over Anna Maria College (0-3-1) on Friday night in non-conference women's ice hockey action at Anna Maria.

In a rematch of Alvernia's first ever game back in 2019, both teams played even over the first 60 minutes.

Alvernia had four power-play opportunities throughout regulation, but were unable to convert as the game went into overtime.

The Amcats came into overtime firing, getting off three shots in the opening seconds of the overtime period. The third shot they attempted was blocked by Ioanna Christou, allowing the Golden Wolves to gain possession and move down the ice.

With 1:24 off the clock in the overtime period, Bradley received a pass off the left post and squeezed a shot in between the goalie and the post to score the golden goal and give Alvernia the 1-0 win.

Julia Beaven picked up the shutout win in net for Alvernia, making 20 saves. Amber Steinhilpert finished the night going 15-for-18 in faceoff attempts.

Alvernia will take on the Amcats again tomorrow with a 3:00 PM matchup.
