COLMAR, PA - The Arcadia University men's ice hockey team tied 4-4 with Lebanon Valley on Friday night at Hatfield Ice Arena. The Knights prevailed in the shootout as James Spaargaren scored the clinching goal to earn Arcadia an extra United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) point.
The Knights' record moves to 1-5-1 overall and 1-2-1 in UCHC play.
Arcadia had four different goal scorers in the tie as Drew Iannucci, Michael Hertzberg, Spaargaren and Dylan Florit all found the back of the net. Hertzberg also added an assist for a two-point night.
Fletcher Bolda was between the pipes for Arcadia and made 45 saves in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Iannucci got the Knights on the board just 38 seconds into the game.

Lebanon Valley tied the game at one nine minutes later, but Hertzberg gave the Knights the lead less than a minute later. Connor Bowey tallied the assist on the score.

The Dutchmen scored a shorhanded goal before the end of the first period to enter the intermission tied at two.

Lebanon Valley scored two second period goals to take a 4-2 lead.

Spaargaren got the Knights within one with a power play goal. Hertzberg recorded the assist.

Florit tied the game for Arcadia with less than three minutes left in the third period with a power play goal. Brendan Dicker and Brett Schneider had the helpers.

A scoreless overtime saw the teams enter a shootout. Spaargaren ended the shootout in the seventh round to give the Knights the extra conference point.
