No. 5 Nazareth Powers Past Lebanon Valley 4-0

ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Makenna Wiljanen added a pair of goals Friday night to help fifth-ranked Nazareth remain unbeaten with a 4-0 victory over Lebanon Valley. Wiljanen, who leads the Golden Flyers with six goals on the year, has now scored a goal in four of five games this season.

The Golden Flyers improve to 5-0 on the season and in conference play, while the Dutchwomen drop to 1-6 and 0-5, respectively.

Nazareth was able to strike first just :46 seconds into the contest on Makenna Wiljanen's team-leading fifth goal of the season. The senior picked off a pass in the offensive zone and roofed a wrist shot into the top shelf for the early advantage.

It was a penalty-filled opening period, with Nazareth going 0-3 and the Dutchwomen going 0-2.

The Golden Flyers added a pair of power play goals in the second period, beginning with Corsica Skibinski re-directing a shot from the point from Ali Fujiyoshi at the 14:04 mark.

With time nearly expiring, Wiljanen got her second goal of the game off a rebound from Abbey Luth for a power play goal. The clock read 1.1 at the time of the goal to up Nazareth's advantage to 3-0.

A giveaway by the Dutchwomen midway through the third was cashed in by Abby Flanagan, who wristed a shot to the far post. The freshman now has five goal on the season and has scored in all but one game this season.

Goaltender McKinley Hoff recorded her first shutout of the season, making 10 saves in net.

Nazareth and Lebanon Valley will be back at it on Saturday at Bill Gray's Iceplex with a 3 p.m. start time.
