Dressler Lifts Nazareth To Overtime Victory Over Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, PA – Visiting Nazareth scored two goals late in the third period and capped a come-from-behind, 3-2, win in overtime against Lebanon Valley Friday night on a goal from sophomore Josh Dressler. It was the Golden Flyers first win of the season and also marked their first conference game of the 2022-23 season.
 
Trailing 2-0 late in the third period, the Golden Flyers began mounting their comeback when defensemen Liam Beaudoin ripped a wrist shot top shelf past the Dutchmen goalie at 16:58. Assists were credited to Ryan Turse and Michael DiSchiavi.
 
Just :16 seconds later Blake Frost evened the score off assists from Dressler and Henry McKinney.
 
In the overtime, it took just :51 seconds for Nazareth to earn the victory. Nazareth won a faceoff in the Lebanon Valley zone and Beaudoin played a pass to the point for Dressler. Dressler deked past one defender and fired a low shot in the short side to earn the victory.
 
The Dutchmen were able to score on their 20th and final shot of the first period at 19:28 to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
 
In the second period, Nazareth held a 22-10 advantage in shots, including two power plays, but were unable to break through. For the game, Nazareth was 0-3 with the extra man, while killing off all four penalties it took.
 
The Dutchmen scored midway through the third period for their second goal.
 
Raphael Provencher earned his first-career win, making 23 saves.
 
Nazareth and Lebanon Valley will square off again on Saturday with a 2 p.m. start time.
