Olson's Shutout Lifts Wilkes to 4-0 Victory at Neumann

ASTON, PA – Behind strong goaltending from Addy Olson including her first career shutout, the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team posted a 4-0 United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) victory over Neumann University Saturday afternoon.
 
Wilkes improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0in UCHC play. Neumann dropped to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in league games.
 
After a scoreless first period, Julie Patterson put Wilkes on the board late in the second frame as she ripped a shot to the back of the net off assists from Abigail Barcless and Rachel Morey at the 4:34 mark of the period.
 
The Colonels then put the game out of reach in the third period scoring three times over the final twenty minutes. Bella Kaczorowski notched a pair of goals at the 12:38 and 15:33 marks respectively as Patterson added an assist on the first and Abigail Davis and Gianna Manzi with helpers on the second.
 
Kiera Lacombe rounded out the goal scorers for Wilkes finding the back of the empty net off an assist from Sarah Uhall with under two minutes remaining in the game.
 
Olson was the difference in goal for Wilkes making 34 saves to preserve her first career shutout.
 
Ally Joly made 29 saves in net for Neumann.
 
Wilkes returns to UCHC play Friday when the Colonels host Nazareth College at 5:00 p.m. at the Toyota SportsPlex in the squad's home debut.
