Nazareth Stays Unblemished in UCHC Play With 5-0 Win at Neumann

ASTON, PA – Visiting Nazareth scored three third period goals on its way to a 5-0 victory over Neumann University on Friday night in a conference matchup. Abbey Luth (two goals, one assist) and Julia Holmes (one goal, two assists) each added three points for the Golden Flyers in the win.
 
Nazareth improves to 8-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play with the victory, while Neumann falls to 1-9 and 1-6 in UCHC action.
 
After a scoreless first period, Nazareth was able to net two goals in the second period to take a 2-0 lead into the final intermission.
 
Alexis Jones scored her first-career goal just over 11 minutes into the period. Sydney Gurlea fired a shot in and Jones was able to put in the rebound from the goaltender.
 
The visitors had a similar rebound goal just over four minutes later, as a shot from Ally Watrous found the stick of Luth for a wrister into the side netting.
 
Early in the third, Nazareth extended its lead to 3-0 on a power play goal from Luth. She took a diagonal pass from Ivey Lyden and slapped it into the nearside for her fourth goal of the season. Julia Holmes also collected an assist on the goal.
 
Holmes was on the other side of a goal for Nazareth scoring past the midway point for her third goal of the season.  Four minutes later, Makenna scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season off a rebound from Luth.
 
The Golden Flyers held a 62-4 shots on goal advantage in the game. McKinley Hoff made stopped all four shots she faced to earn the win.
 
Nazareth and Neumann will be back on the ice Saturday with a 2 p.m. puck drop.
