No. 2 Utica Stays Perfect in UCHC Play After 6-1 Win at Lebanon Valley

HERSHEY, PA - The No. 2 Utica University men's hockey team moved to 11-0-0 in UCHC action after a 6-1 win at the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen on Friday night. 
 
Dante Zapata led the team with two goals followed by Jayson Dobay, Matt Wood, Remy Parker and John Moncovich who each registered one. Justin Allen totaled two points on the night with a pair of assists while six other Pioneers had an assist as well. 
 
In goal, Bryan Landsberger finished with 19 saves in the winning effort. 
 
The Pioneers kept pressure on the Dutchmen all evening, finishing with 51 total shots on 20 in the first, 13 in the second and 18 in the third period. The Pioneers held Lebanon Valley to 20 throughout the game, 13 of which coming in the second period. 
 
Utica tallied two goals in the first period, the first off the stick of Remy Parker at 13:57 while Dante Zapata recorded his first with nine seconds left in the period. The Pioneers' next two goals came within six minutes of the second period. The first of which was from Matt Wood at 3:45 while Jayson Dobay made it a 4-0 game less than two minutes later. 
 
With under 30 seconds remaining in the second period and Utica on a power play, Zapata fired in his second goal of the night to extend the team's lead to 5-0 entering the final frame. 
 
The Dutchmen scored once in the third period to close its gap to 5-1 however, Moncovich later responded to hand the Pioneers a five-goal lead again which ultimately sealed the deal at 6-1. 
 
No. 2 Utica (13-2-1, 11-0-0 UCHC) and Lebanon Valley will meet again on Saturday night at 7 p.m.
