Women's Ice Hockey Nazareth Athletic Communications

No. 12 Nazareth Gets Back in Win Column With 3-0 Victory Over Manhattanville

RYE, NY –  The Nazareth women's hockey team got back on track on Saturday, blanking Manhattanville 3-0, behind a career-high three assists from freshman Abby Flanagan. Julia Holmes, Olivia Miller-Johnson, and Ali Fujiyoshi each scored for Nazareth.
 
Nazareth moves to 14-5 on the season and 13-1 in UCHC play, while Manhattanville falls to 10-9-1 and 10-5-1 in league play.
 
Holmes ripped a shot all the way from the blue line that made its way through to give the Golden Flyers a 1-0 advantage almost nine minutes in. Audrey Donahue and Abby Flanagan were tagged with assists on the goal.
 
Miller-Johnson scored for the second night in a row, flicking home a backhander early in the second to make it 2-0 in favor of the Nazareth, a lead which held until the third period. Flanagan and Gabriella DeMeo earned assists on the goal.
 
Fujiyoshi scored her first goal of the year with a deep shot from the point near the five-minute mark of the third to finish out the scoring. It was a power play goal, assisted by Flanagan and Ally Watrous.
 
Miller-Johnson and Holmes each have six goals now on the season.
 
The Golden Flyers were pegged with six penalties in the game, but were able to successfully kill off each.
 
McKinley Hoff earned the shutout in net with eight saves. It was her fifth shutout of the season.
 
Nazareth will travel to King's next Friday for a 7 p.m. matchup.
