Stevenson Downs Lebanon Valley for first win of 2023-24 campaign

HERSHEY, PA - Stevenson Women's Hockey traveled to Hersheypark Arena tonight to play Lebanon Valley after last night's 5-3 loss. The Mustangs would bounce back in game two, earning UCHC and MAC points for their 3-1 win.

After a scoreless first period, sophomore Maggie Dean scored her first goal of the season at the halfway point of the second. Classmate Kendall Girnt and senior Katelyn Reid were credited with the assists in the effort for their first and second points of the season, respectively.

First year Carleigh Barwick would score her second goal of the weekend just seven minutes later thanks to a crossing pass from sophomore Meghan Croyle. The assist was Croyle's first of the season.

Though the Dutchmen started the third period with a goal, the Mustangs were quick to return the favor as senior Hannah Labbe scored her first goal of the season as Jayne DeBejian tallied the first point of her sophomore campaign on the assist.

Senior Cassie Campbell went 10-for-18 in the circle while Dean and Barwick combined for an additional 15 wins.

Croyle and senior Emily Brightbill tied for a game-high two blocks in front of sophomore Mallory Hunt, who made a career-high 39 saves in the win. Seventeen of those saves came in the third period as the Dutchmen tried to even the score.

The Mustangs continue their away schedule with their next series at Chatham University on Friday and Saturday, November 17th and 18th at the Hunt Armory in Pittsburgh.
