Nazareth Opens 2025-26 Season With 4-1 Win Over Neumann; McDonald earns first win

ASTON, PA - A three goal first period propeled Nazareth to a 4-1 win on a Friday night in Pennsylvania. Head coach James McDonald earned his first win behind the bench for the Golden Flyers.

How It Happened:

  • Just after the first minute of the first period, junior Cameron Bauer scored to make it 1-0 Golden Flyers off an assist from Kai Shen. 

  • A few minutes later, Nazareth would double up with a goal from Antoine Lucier to make it 2-0. 

  • Right before the halfway mark of the first, the Golden Flyers would strike again as Harrison Dumas made it 3-0. 

  • However, the shots on goal after one were 10-9 in favor of Neumann but Nazareth was able to capitalize on their chances and took their three goal lead into the 2nd period. 

  • Late into the 3rd period, Will Halecki would make it 4-0 with assists coming from Daisuke Egusa and Lucas Stanojevic.

  • Neumann would score in the last minute to break the shutout.

  • Shots ended with Nazareth leading 31-27.

 

Game Notes:

  • Goaltender Mason Joseph recorded his first career win

  • The Golden Flyers are back on the road tomorrow, November 1st at 3 p.m. as they will take on Stevenson University.
