GENESEO, NY - The SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey team completed a sweep of its first UCHC weekend of the year on Saturday, defeating Albertus Magnus 5-2. The Knights improve to 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the conference, while the Falcons dip to 3-2-0 and 0-2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Knights got off to a slow start, and found themselves trailing 1-0 after the first period of play. Geneseo quickly bounced back in the second period, with Carter Diceman scoring just 2:33 into the action off assists from Ryan Forberg and Alex Dameski.
- Albertus Magnus regained control of the game in the second period by going ahead 2-1, but the Knights closed out the second with back-to-back goals by Luke Panchisin and Dameski.
- Geneseo kept their momentum going to start the third period, scoring two more unanswered goals in the first five minutes of action to extend the lead to 5-2. The three-goal lead was plenty for the Knights defense, as they kept the Falcons off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game.
QUICK FACTS:
- Diceman led the offensive effort with two goals and an assist, he now leads the team on the season in points with eight.
- Jacob Torgner earned his third win of the year in goal, tallying 28 saves.
- The Knights offense now has six skaters with at least five points through the opening six games.

Geneseo will travel to Nazareth on Friday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m., before returning to the Ira S. Wilson arena on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. against the Golden Flyers.
