STEVENSON, MD - The Golden Flyers hang on in the third period to defeat Stevenson 4-2 on Saturday night. This completes a weekend sweep, improving Nazareth to 2-0 on the season.
How It Happened:

A little over six minutes into the game, Stevenson struck first with a nice play off the rush and made it 1-0.

About four minutes later, Blake Frost scored a power play goal that beat the goaltender over the right shoulder, tying the game at one. Assists came from Logan Tobais and Charles Ross.

With just under five minutes left in the first period, Gabe Cull scored this first collegiate goal and gave Nazareth the lead. The assist came from Hudson Nadasdi who had a great forecheck to set up the play.

Nazareth outshot Stevenson 9-8 in the first period and held a 2-1 lead.

Just over halfway through the second, Mark Meinecke scored to make it 3-1. A great pass from Gabe Cull set up Meinecke who scored from the high slot over the goaltender's left shoulder.

Shortly after, a power play goal from Stevenson cut the Nazareth lead to 3-2.

The second period shots would show 20-18, in favor of Nazareth.

Lincoln Crosby and the Golden Flyers were able to hold off a late Stevenson push which set up an empty net goal for Lucas Stanojevic.
