HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After picking up her first goal on Friday, Whitney found the back of the net and notched her second of the season as she backhanded a shot from just in front of the net to make it a 1-0 game at the 10:17 mark. Fedele and Kendall Conley (Trumbull, Conn.) had an assist on the goal.
  • The Hawks scored the next two goals, courtesy of Victoria Battaglia, which both came in the second period. The first came on a deflection off a shot from Alexis Cunningham just 21 seconds into the period, tying the game at 1-1. She added her second at the 10:46 mark to give Hilbert the lead after picking up the puck on the blue line, splitting two defenders and putting a shot past Trocchio to make it 2-1.
  • The Falcons were able to tie it up as the second period was winding down as Martin skated the length of the ice and fired a shot from the slot to make it a 2-2 game heading into the third period.
  • After scoring the first hat trick in program history the night before, Walsh found the net once again to put the Falcons in front 3-2, after deflecting in a shot from Aubrie Adair (Mays Landing, N.J.) at 11:58 in the third.
  • Cunningham made it a 4-2 game less than three minutes later. On the goal, Cunningham took a pass from Fedele as she beat the defense down the ice and fired a wide open shot past Hilbert goaltender, Brook Thompson. Elle Price (Greenwich, Conn.) also had an assist on the goal.
  • Martin added an empty net goal in the final minute.

NOTEWORTHY

  • Adair earned her first career point.
  • Price notched her first career assist.
