HOW IT HAPPENED

  • It took less than four minutes to get the scoring started as the Sullivan took a pass from Aleksy Bandu (Notre-Dame-de-L'lle-Perrot, Quebec) just before center ice and raced down along the boards, cut towards the net and backhanded a shot in past Wesleyan goaltender, Ethan Fehrenbaker to make it a 1-0 game at 3:19 of the first period.
  • Wesleyan scored twice in just over a three-minute span later on in the first period. The first coming from Owen Mahar who stuffed in a rebound in front of the net at the 6:08 mark. At the 9:21 mark, Dylan Margel gave the Cardinals the lead, scoring on a 2-on-1 break after receiving a pass from Connor Sutherland.
  • Albertus tied the game at the 13:40 mark as the Kindrachuk brothers assisted one another for a goal. A shot by Zeth Kindrachuk (Calgary, Alberta) was stopped by Fehrenbaker, but Zane Kindrachuk was able to get the rebound and score his team-leading seventh goal of the season just in front of the net to make it a 2-2 game.
  • The second period was scoreless as Hale stopped 11 shots and Fehrenbaker, 10.
  • The scoring picked up again immediately in the third period as Wesleyan took its second lead of the game just 41 seconds in as Andrew Haxton scored after being fed a backhanded centering pass from Ethan Davidson.
  • Tsegelnik then took over the game, scoring the next two goals. The first coming at the 5:43 mark as he took a pass in the slot from Sullivan and fired a shot past Fehrenbaker to tie the game, 3-3 at the 5:43 mark. At the 9:09 mark, Tsegelnik took a shot from just after the blue line over the glove side of Fehrenbaker, giving Albertus the lead for good at 4-3.
