CLINTON, NY – The fifth-ranked Nazareth women's hockey team traveled to #15 Hamilton University for an out-of-conference game on Tuesday. The Golden Flyers took the matchup 3-1, outshooting the Continentals 27-22. Nazareth moves to 11-0 with the win, while Hamilton falls to 4-3-1.
How It Happened
? The first high quality chance of the game came 7 minutes in, when junior Logan Marchese broke into the slot and ripped a backhand shot off the crossbar, just narrowly missing her mark short side.
? Nazareth struck first 12 minutes into the game, with junior Ella Mannila finding the back of the net. Her goal was assisted by senior Sydney Gurlea and freshman Ella Konrad.
? The Golden Flyers stretched their lead to 2-0 17:33 into the first period. Junior Ella Cedrone was the goal-scorer this time, with the lone assist going to Amy Laskowski.
? The Continentals cut Nazareth's lead in half on the power play with 8 minutes remaining in the second period, sending both teams into the second intermission at 2-1.
? The second frame was riddled with penalties, seeing both teams penalized twice with just one occurrence resulting in a goal.
