No. 9 SUNY Geneseo Scores Eight Unanswered Goals To Defeat St. John Fisher, 8-2

GENESEO, N.Y. - The No. 9 SUNY Geneseo Men's ice hockey team secured the comeback win over St. John Fisher after scoring eight straight goals, defeating the Cardinals 8-2. The Knights improve to 7-3-1 overall and are 4-1-0 in UCHC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Cardinals went up 2-0 in the first period, out-shooting Geneseo 8-6.
  • The Knights fired back in the second with Filip Wiberg scoring a power play goal 42 seconds into the period. Jackson Stimple added another five minutes later, followed by one from Ryan Forberg less than two minutes after to claim the lead over St. John Fisher.
  • Alex Dameski opened the third period with another power play goal a minute in with assists from Sean Melso and Luke Panchisin. Sterling Wolters tapped in a backhanded goal off a pass from Forberg to extend the lead to 5-2.
  • Luke Panchisin found the back of the net on the power play, ripping a shot from the top of the zone for his fifth goal of the season. Greg Diamond and Cameron Ricotta each tallied a goal of their own in the last five minutes of the game, sealing the game with an 8-2 win over the Cardinals.
