ROCHESTER, NY – Host Nazareth completed the weekend sweep of Manhattanville on Sunday, downing the Valiants 4-1 at Tim Horton's Iceplex. Nazareth moves to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in UCHC play, while Manhattanville drops to 0-8 and 0-4 respectively.
How it Happened:
- The Golden Flyers had a large disparity in shots (18-5) in the first period, including behind three power play opportunities, but not team found the net.
- Nazareth struck twice in the second period, the first Will Halecki 2:24 in. Jason Shafer played a cross-ice pass that Halecki tapped past the goalie. Matthew Herb had the secondary assist on the play.
- The score remained that way until later in the period when Lucas Stanojevic made good on an opportunity. He took a look pass from Daisuke Egusa and wristed it past the goalie.
- A 5-on-3 power play opportunity for Nazareth 5:30 into the third period allowed Logan Tobias to net his fifth of the season from Charles Ross, making it 3-0.
- Cameron Bauer added to the Flyers lead with his third of the season past the midway point from Stanojevic and Antoine Lucier.
- Paul Dalessio was stellar all night for Nazareth, only allowing a goal with 1:07 left on the clock. He finished with 27 saves to move to 3-1 on the year.
