FAIRPORT, NY – The St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team blanked SUNY Canton 3-0 on Saturday at the Rochester Ice Center, led by a two-goal performance from Sophie Grant. The Cardinals improved to 5-9-1, while the Roos dropped to 9-5-1.
How it Happened
The Cardinals opened the scoring just under 16 minutes into the first period when Brooklyn Joyce set up Cameran Evans, who fired a shot home.
With less than two minutes remaining in the second period, the Cardinals extended its lead as Eibhleann Knox and Alayana Denofrio assisted Grant, giving the Cardinals a two-goal advantage heading into the final period.
With ten seconds remaining in regulation, the Cardinals sealed the win when Grant scored an empty-net goal for her second of the game.
