NEW HAVEN, CT - The Albertus Magnus College women's ice hockey team won a hard-fought 2-1 game against Utica University on Friday evening in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) game.
Tori Walsh (Marystown, Newfoundland) scored a goal and Alana Laser (San Jose, Ca.) scored what proved to be the game winner for the the Falcons.
Christmas Johnson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) stopped 35 shots on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Utica struck first on the power-play just 3:20 into the game as Tess Barrett took a shot that found its way through traffic and into the back of the net to make it a 1-0 game.
- Albertus answered with their own power play goal at the 14:38 mark of the first period as Walsh received a pass from Kurtia Yetman (Winnipeg, Manitoba) in front of the net and put a shot past Utica goaltender, Isabella Boehm to tie the game, 1-1. It was Walsh's ninth goal of the season. Gabriella Dellacroce (Woodbridge, Conn.), who fed the puck to Yetman, also had an assist on the play.
- The Falcons took the lead for good in the second period as Blayne Dussold (Union, Mo.) stole the puck at center ice and tipped a pass to Laser who fought off two defenders and put a shot past Boehm for her fifth goal of the season and her second straight game-winning goal to put the Falcons ahead, 2-1.
- In the third, the Falcons were called for both a major penalty and a bench minor in the final 4:46 and were on the penalty kill the rest of the way, with two of those minutes down two players on the ice. Johnson fought off a flurry of shots and had five saves during the penalty kill to secure her ninth win of the season.
