No. 6 Nazareth Earns Resounding Win Over Chatham, 6-0

ROCHESTER, NY – The Golden Flyers got back in the win collum as they rolled past Chatham 6-0 on Friday night at Tim Horton's Iceplex. They improve to 15-0-1 on the season and 5-0 in UCHC play.
 
How It Happened:
  • Just over eight minutes into the first period, Mia Abruzzese scored a powerplay goal from the point to take a 1-0 lead. Nikki Sharp earned the assist on the play. 
  • One minute later, Allie Zack fed Amy Laskowski for her team leading 17th tally of the season, extending the lead to 2–0.
  • A dominant period from the Golden Flyers produced a lopsided 21–1 edge in shots.
  • Despite a heavy Nazareth attack to begin the second period, Chatham's goalie would stand tall until Abby Flanagan buried a loose puck in front of the net, adding to the Golden Flyer lead.  
  • With five minutes left in the second period, Abby Flanagan had two great opportunities to extend the Golden Flyer lead but great saves from Chatham would keep it 3-0.
  • With 36 seconds left in the 2nd frame, Meredith Boettcher scored a wraparound goal, making it 4-0 Nazareth. Logan Marchese and Allie Zack had the assists on the play.
  • The shots at the end of two periods were 36-3 in favor of Nazareth.
  • Early into the third period, Allie Zack scored a power play to pick up her third point of the night. The goal was assisted by Ella Cedrone and Abby Flanagan.
  • With 11 seconds left, Ave Meteyer scored another Golden Flyer powerplay goal on a nice play with Amy Laskowski.
  • Lenny Manning would come in at goal for the Golden Flyers to start the 3rd period, making some nice stops in their first collegiate appearance.
  • Nazareth outshot Chatham 55-7.
