PITTSBURGH, PA - The SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team scored three unanswered goals to defeat Chatham University 3-2 on Friday afternoon. The Knights advance to 12-6-1 over all with a UCHC record of 8-3-1 while the Cougars fall to 15-3-0 and 6-3-0 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Chatham took a 2-0 lead in the first period over the Knights, scoring two goals in three minutes.
- Luke Panchisin got the Knights on the board in the final minutes of the second period, ripping one bar-down from the middle of the zone, getting the assists from Filip Wiberg and Jackson Stimple.
- The Knights continued to make their presence known with Carter Diceman tying the game after fighting for the puck in front of the net; assists from Alex Dameski and Sean Melso.
- Jackson Stimple scored the game-winner with five minutes left in the third, picking up the loose change for his second career goal, and lead the Knights to a 3-2 victory.
QUICK FACTS:
- Alex Dameski led the team with two points, totaling 28 this season and currently leads the UCHC.
- Jacob Torgner picked up his ninth win of the season, making 27 saves for a .931 SV%.
- Geneseo outshot Chatham 44-29, with half coming in the third period alone.
