PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Freshmen forwards Keira Reckley and Erin Lantry both scored twice to lead the St. John Fisher women's ice hockey team to a 5-1 road victory over Chatham University on Friday night. The Cardinals improved to 8-9-1 (3-3-1 United Collegiate Hockey Conference) with the victory, their fourth in a row, while the Cougars dropped to 1-14-2 (0-7-0 UCHC).

How it Happened

Under nine minutes into the opening period, the Cougars struck first as Klara Miuller opened the scoring. The Cardinals answered late in the period, tying the game with less than a minute remaining when Reckley scored an unassisted goal.

The Cardinals took the lead just over a minute into the second period on an unassisted, power-play goal by Ellie Prantner. Their advantage grew midway through the third period, when Alayna Denofrio and Cameran Evans set up Lantry, who buried a shot for the Cardinals' third goal.

Four minutes later, Lantry tallied her second goal of the game off a feed from Evans and Nicole Doeringer. Reckley sealed the win with about three minutes remaining, netting an unassisted, short-handed empty-net goal, her second tally of the game.

Game Notes

• Lantry scored two goals for the first multi-goal game of her collegiate career.

• Reckley also netted two goals, marking her first multi-goal performance of the season. She has scored at least one goal in back-to-back games.

• Evans recorded two assists for her first multi-assist game of the season.

• Freshman goaltender Brynn Bacak made 19 saves in net for the Cardinals.
