Woods Makes 50 Saves to Secure Men's Ice Hockey a 3-0 Win Over Manhattanville

PURCHASE, NY – Goaltender Sebastian Woods made a career-high 50 saves to lead the St. John Fisher University men's ice hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Manhattanville University on Friday. The Cardinals improve to 10-13-0 (4-11-0 UCHC) while the Valiants drop to 4-17-1 (3-10-0 UCHC).

How it Happen

  • Just past the midway point of the first period, the Cardinals struck first when Elijah Devereaux set up Mitchell Ferras for the game's opening goal.

  • The Cardinals doubled its lead more than five minutes into the second period as Mike Markowski scored off a feed from Brendan Merriman.

  • Jonathan Sonedecker sealed the victory with less than three minutes remaining in regulation, scoring an unassisted empty-net goal to put the game out of reach.

  • Ferras scored a goal and now has two goals over his last three games.

  • Deveraux recorded an assist and has tallied two assists in the past three contests.
