Amy Laskowski Repeats As Finalist For AHCA Division III Women’s Hockey Laura Hurd Player of the Year Award

ROCHESTER, NY - For the second straight year sophomore Amy Laskowski of the Nazareth women's hockey team has been selected as a finalist for the 2025-26 Laura Hurd Award, given annually to the best NCAA Division III women's ice hockey player in the country. In total, seven players are finalists. Finalists were selected by the nation's Division III head coaches in a preliminary vote.

Sponsored by the American Hockey Coaches Association, the Hurd Award honors the memory of former Elmira College standout Laura Hurd. A 2005 graduate of Elmira, and a four-time All-American, Hurd died in an automobile accident shortly after graduation. She was the recipient of the AHCA Player of the Year Award in 2005. The recipient of this year's Hurd Award will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four next week.

Laskowski, a native of Clarendon Hills, IL, only elevated her game in her sophomore campaign, setting the single season record for Nazareth for goals (25) and points (49). She ranks third in the country, averaging 0.93 goals per game and is ninth nationally in assists per game at 0.89. Her 1.81 points per game is fifth nationally along with her eight power play goals. Laskowski, who was named UCHC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in 2025-26, led the league in scoring during league play with 32 points on 17 goals and 15 assists and was plus-25 in just 14 contests. Laskowski has at least a point in 24 of 28 games this season and has 17 multiple-point efforts. She scored four goals in a win over St. John Fisher on Nov. 22.

Laskowski and No. 3 Nazareth are set to take on No. 2 Norwich in the NCAA National Semifinal from top-seed Wisconsin-River Falls on Friday, March 27 at 4 p.m. River-Falls and No. 4 Amherst College are set to play at 8 p.m. The two semifinal winners will meet for the 2026 NCAA Championship on Sunday, March 29 at 4 p.m.

Finalists for the 2025-26 Laura Hurd Award
Haylee Bouchard, JR F, Wilkes (Sioux Lookout, ON) - The MAC Player of the Year led the Colonels to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Bouchard recorded 17-36-53 in 27 games for Wilkes (25-2-1).

Megan Goodreau, SR F, UW-River Falls (Lino Lakes, MN)- Goodreau has been phenomenal for the 28-1-0 Falcons, compiling 36-38-74 in 29 games. #1 UWRF hosts #4 Amherst in an NCAA Semifinal on Friday. Goodreau was WIAC Player of the Year.

Sophia Hess, FR F, UW-River Falls (Cold Spring, MN) - Hess had quite an inaugural college hockey campaign as she went 26-30-56 for coach Joe Cranston. Hess won WIAC Newcomer of the Year and was a first team All-WIAC selection.

Riley Johnson, SR F, Adrian College  (Farmington, MIL)  - Riley Johnson was NCHA Co-Player of the Year this season with 23-31-54 in 28 games. A 200-foot player, she also boasts a +45 in her +/- column.

Amy Laskowski, SO F, Nazareth University (Clarendon Hills, IL) - Laskowski was the UCHC Player of the Year (25-24-49 in 28 games) after being Co-Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2024-25. She is poised to help the Golden Flyers in the NCAA Semifinals vs. No. 2 Norwich Friday.

Erin Pye, SR G, Williams College (Third Lake, IL) - NESCAC Player of the Year led WIlliams to the NCAA Quarterfunals. Her 2025-26 numbers showed her to be up to the task: 1.19 GAA, .965 GAA, and a 15-5-4 record.

Natalie Stott, SR G, Amherst College (Franklin, MA) - Stott has been an AHCA First Team All-American in each of her three completed seasons and is looking to make it four straight. She led the NESCAC with a 0.63 GAA, .973 save percentage and 12 shutouts. Amherst takes on River-Falls in the national semifinal Friday.
