GENESEO, NY - The Geneseo Men's hockey team took down the Manhattanville Valiants this afternoon with a 2-1 win. The Knights remain unbeaten this season, with an overall record of 5-0 and 4-0 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:

Geneseo hand control in the beginning of the game, peppering shots on Manhattanville's goalie but could not get the goal. The Valiants took advantage of a powerplay to gain control of the puck. Geneseo held strong but forfeited a goal just after the power play ended. The Knights worked to even the score but could not before the end of the period.

The Knights came out with a fire in them and took control of the second period, outshooting Manhattanville 14-6. Zach Purcell scored the equalizer at 15:45 of a great sequence from Cooper Fensterstock and Daktota Zarudny. They held strong through the rest of the period and headed into the third tied 1-1.

Geneseo started the third, putting 11 shots on goal in the first five minutes. Sterling Wolters fired a shot wide from the blue line and Cannon Green picked it up to score the game-winning goal. Luke Munroe had the second assist. The Knights were relentless, putting 21 more shots on goal and won the game with a final score of 2-1.
