BROCKPORT, NY- The Geneseo Men's Hockey team secured their seventh straight victory tonight with a 3-1 win over Brockport.
HOW IT HAPPENED-
- Geneseo struck first, tallying their first goal of the night at 13:28. Jack McDonald spun around a defender and found the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Sean Melos and Stefan Miklakos were on the assist.
- Payne Gatewood scored his first career goal two minutes into the second period with the assist from Cannon Green.
- Brockport answered back ten minutes later to bring the score to 2-1, but their efforts were thwarted. Peter Morgan secured the win with a the Knight third goal of the game at 19:34. Gabriel LaFlamme and Cooper Fensterstock were awarded the assists. Geneseo won 3-1.
QUICK FACTS-
- Jacob Torgner had his third win of the season, making 13 saves and ending with a .929 SV%.
- Payne Gatewood scored his first collegiate goal this evening.
- This has been the Knights best start to the season since 2000, with seven consecutive wins.
