Nazareth Suffers 4-2 Loss to SUNY Oswego

ROCHESTER, NY – Host Nazareth was unable to go 2-0 on the weekend, falling 4-2 on Saturday to Oswego in non-conference action. With the loss, Nazareth is now 6-5-2 on the season, while Oswego moves to 7-5-2.
 
Oswego had the best of play in the opening period with 14 shots on goal compared to 6 for Nazareth. The Lakers turned two of those shots into even strength goals to lead 2-0 after one period.
 
In the second period, Nazareth was able get on the scoreboard just over six minutes in. Freshman Lucas Stanojevic played a beautiful pass to Kai Shen for a one-timer into the net to make it 2-1.
 
Oswego added a power play goal with less than four minutes to play in the period and took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
 
7:30 into third, Nazareth closed within 3-2 on a goal from Anthony Quinlivan, assisted by Logan Tobias and Jeremy Swartz.
 
Still trailing, Nazareth pulled the goalie with 1:46 on the clock but an empty net goal with :14 seconds sealed the game.
 
Lincoln Crosby made 27 saves in the loss.
 
Nazareth returns to action on Friday, hosting Geneseo re-open UCHC play.
