ROCHESTER, NY -- The Geneseo Men's Ice Hockey team defeated Nazareth 4-3 in an overtime nail-bitter on Friday night. The Knights now advance to 12-1-1 overall and 8-0-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Knights found the back of the net early in the first. Alex Dameski hit one in at 14:17 with assist coming from Jack McDonald.
- Nazareth evened the score seven minutes in, but Filip Wiberg gave the Knights the go ahead goal, tipping it in a shot from Dakota Zarudny. Zach Purcell had the second assist.
- Purcell netted a goal with 1:20 left to play in the first off a pass from Sterling Wolters and Geneseo Heads into the second leading 3-1.
- The Golden Flyers evened the score with two goals in the second period. After three periods, the teams headed into overtime tied 3-3.
- Controlling overtime, Geneseo held pressure on Nazareth, with Zarudny firing the game-winner one minute into overtime. The Knights defeated Nazareth 4-3.
