ROCHESTER, NY – The Nazareth men's hockey team used a three-goal second period to help earn a 5-3 victory over King's College (PA) on Saturday at Tim Horton's Iceplex. How it Happened:
  • It was a strong start for the Golden Flyers as they scored twice in the opening period.
  • Frost scored his second of the year 5:14 into the game. Mann tapped a pass out to Frost out at the blue line and a knuckle puck made its way over the goalies shoulder. Jason Shafer also got an assist on the play.
  • Mann was in on the scoring end of the second goal as Naz converted on the power play. Mann tucked a pass to Charles Ross and skated to the net where he deflected in a shot from Ross with :35 seconds left in the period.
  • Four goals were scored in the second period, three from the Golden Flyers.
  • After the Monarchs came within 2-1 on a power play goal of their own, Nazareth responded with three-straight goals in the period.
  • Logan Tobias got his first of the day with eight minutes left off the period with assists to Mann and Frost.
  • Just :22 seconds later, Tobias scored a beautiful goal from Ross and Mark Meinecke. Tobias took the pass and knifed in from the boards before backhanding it in to make it 4-1.
  • Frost used his speed later in the period to beat the Monarchs up the ice and score a forehand-to-backhand tally from Matthew Herb.
