The UCHC announced its 2024-25 Men’s Championship All-Tournament Team following the league’s title game on Saturday, March 8. Sophomore forward Filip Wiberg of No. 2 seed SUNY Geneseo was named the UCHC Tournament Most Valuable Player after helping lead the Knights to their first league title in their inaugural season as conference members.
Wiberg scored three goals in two UCHC Tournament games, including a pair of first period goals that catapaulted SUNY Geneseo to a 4-0 lead in the title game against top-seeded Utica University, as the Knights went on to a 7-3 win. He also added a goal against No. 3 seed Manhattanville in the UCHC Semifinal on March 1.
Geneseo goaltender Adam Harris, along with defenseman Nicholas Kovacs and forwards Payne Gatewood and Peter Morgan earned All-Tournament Team honors. Harris made 64 saves on 69 shots in the two tournament games. He stopped 34 shots against Manhattanville in the semifinals and 30 against Utica, who entered the title game the No. 3 scoring offense in Division III. Kovacs had three assists in the semifinal win over Manhattanville, while Gatewood had a goal and an assist in the title game against Utica. Morgan led all student-athletes with four points on three goals and an assist in the two UCHC Tournament contests. He had two goals and an assist against Manhattanville and added a key insurance goal against Utica.
Defenseman Brian Scoville and forward Shane Murphy of runner-up Utica University were also named to the All-Tournament Team. Scoville, who was also named to the All-Tournament team last season in addition to earning 2023-24 UCHC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors, had three assists and was plus-5 in the semifinal win over Chatham University. Murphy scored three goals in the UCHC Tournament, including two in the win over Chatham and Utica's first goal in the title game against Geneseo.
