Junior forward Nick Cyprian of Chatham University and the SUNY Geneseo duo of senior forward Peter Morgan and sophomore defenseman Sean Melso were named 2024-25 CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-Americans on Thursday, March 27.
Cyprian and Morgan garnered second team honors, while Melso was third team picks. Morgan previously earned All-American honors in 2022, while Cyprian and Melso are first-time All-Americans.
Cyprian was named the UCHC Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Sid Watson Award as the Division III Player of the Year. A native of Aledo, TX, he leads all UCHC skaters with 1.26 points per game, recording 34 points on 14 goals and 20 assists in 27 games played this season. In 20 UCHC regular season contests, he led the league with 28 points on 12 goals and 16 assists to go along with three game-winning tallies and four power-play markers.
A two-time UCHC Player of the Week, Cyprian recorded 10 multiple-point contests this season, including a season-best four-point outing while scoring the overtime winner in a 7-6 victory at SUNY Geneseo on Jan. 24.
Morgan, a native of Sarasota, FL, has helped lead SUNY Geneseo to the NCAA Frozen Four, pacing the team in scoring with 36 points on 14 goals and 22 assists. Morgan, an All-UCHC first team selection, has excelled in the postseason with seven points on four goals and three assists in four contests, as the Knights won the UCHC Championship in its first season as a league member. Morgan, who was named to the UCHC Championship All-Tournament Team, has tallied 140 points on 56 goals and 84 assists in 110 career contests. He was previously a CCM/ACHA Second Team All-American in 2021-22.
Melso earned 2024-25 UCHC Defensive Player of the Year honors and UCHC first team accolades earlier in the month. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Melso has a plus-31 rating, among the national leaders and has contributed offensively with 24 points on eight goals and 16 assists in 29 games played this season. He was a league-best plus-26 with 21 points (six goals and 15 assists) in 20 UCHC regular season contests.
