Manhattanville Stuns Geneseo in Overtime Behind Baksay’s Historic Four-Goal Night

GENESEO, NY – Manhattanville men's hockey delivered a statement win on Friday night, earning a dramatic 4–3 overtime victory over nationally ranked SUNY Geneseo behind a historic four-goal performance from Lucas Baksay. The win marks the Valiants' first regular-season victory over a ranked opponent since Dec. 9, 2018 against Trinity College, and the program's first four-goal game by a single player since Ken McLean accomplished the feat on Jan. 18, 2020, against Neumann.

Manhattanville struck first early in the opening period, as Baksay opened the scoring at 2:46 with an even-strength finish off feed from Ryan McKenna. The Valiants set the tone defensively from the opening face off, with William Billequey turning aside multiple early chances to preserve the 1–0 lead through the first intermission.

Geneseo answered early in the second on the power play to knot the contest at one, before grabbing their first lead midway through the frame at 8:43. Manhattanville responded late, once again leaning on Baksay, who buried his second goal of the night at 19:08 to even the score at 2–2 heading into the final period. Tristan D'Elia and McKenna collected assists on the crucial equalizer.

The third period unfolded as a back-and-forth battle between two determined sides. Geneseo briefly reclaimed the lead at 5:43, but Baksay completed his hat trick at 11:32, finishing a strong offensive-zone sequence from D'Elia to tie the game 3–3 and swing momentum back in Manhattanville's favor. Billequey continued to anchor the Valiants defensively, weathering sustained pressure and denying several late chances to force overtime.

In the extra frame, Manhattanville controlled possession early before Baksay sealed the victory in dramatic fashion. At 2:47 of sudden-death overtime, Baksay broke free and fired home the unassisted game-winner, completing his four-goal night and lifting the Valiants to a thrilling road win.

Billequey finished the night with a poised performance between the pipes, making 42 timely saves across regulation and overtime to support the offensive surge. McKenna and D'Elia recorded multiple assists, playing key roles throughout the lineup as Manhattanville earned one of its most significant wins in recent seasons.
