Seniors Lead Nazareth past Arcadia

ROCHESTER, NY – Graduate student Ray Falso scored twice while seniors Mitch Culver and Cole Moore added two assists each as the Nazareth College Men's Hockey team scored a 6-1 win over Arcadia University Saturday in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) game at the Bill Gray's Iceplex.

Falso scored in the first period and then added a second goal in the second period to help Nazareth (2-2 overall, 2-0 UCHC) to a 3-0 lead. He scored on a rebound in the first period after senior JT Entelisano had his shot saved.

In the second period, sophomore Johnny Jackson scored at the 3:44 mark to double the Golden Flyers lead and Falso scored 14 seconds later to further increase the lead as he flipped another shot past the Arcadia (0-4, 0-2 UCHC) goalie.

Junior Henry McKInney scored an unassisted short-handed goal midway through the period as Nazareth built a 4-0 lead.

Another scoring flurry came in the third period as freshman Sean O'Brian scored his first career goal with helpers from Culver and Moore. Less than a minute later, fellow freshman Keith Davenport scored his first Nazareth goal to boost the lead to 6-0.

Arcadia broke up the shutout effort with 3:19 to play with a goal off a scramble in front of the net as freshman goalie Matt Sayles could not cover up the loose puck before it was jammed in for the lone Knights goal.

Sayles finished with 24 saves as Nazareth held a 45-25 shots advantage.

The Golden Flyers travel to Stevenson in Maryland and Chatham in Pittsburgh next weekend to continue UCHC play.
