Warhoftig Seals the Deal for Chatham in Overtime Win Over Wilkes

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Chatham Men's Hockey hosted Wilkes this afternoon in a UCHC matchup. After scoreless regulation play, the Cougars would find the back of the net on an overtime power-play.

Ricardo Gonzalez held down the fort defensively for Chatham, stopping all 27 shots he faced. At the other end, the Cougars peppered the Colonels goaltender with 32 shots.

Three-on-three overtime became four-on-three in the Cougars favor thanks to a penalty carried over. Warhoftig, Zack Conner, Caden Smith, and Nick Cyprian kept the puck moving before getting shots to the net. Wilkes would stop a few, but their luck ended when the puck found its way to Warhoftig, who fired a shot past the sprawling goaltender.

Cyprian led the team in shots with six, followed by Smith with five. In the circle, Evan Mitchell won a team-high nine draws. Dimitri Wey won six of his seven face-off attempts.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow at 12 PM to finish up their series with the Colonels at the Hunt Armory.
