Nazareth Rebounds to Garner Series Split With 4-1 Win Over Stevenson

STEVENSON, MD – Sophomore Joshua Dressler scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to help Nazareth earn a bounce-back win, 4-1, over Stevenson on Saturday. Henry McKinney had a goal and two assists, while Matt Sayles made 19 saves in the win.
 
The Golden Flyers are now 7-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play, while Stevenson drops to 5-6 and 2-4, respectively.
 
It was a scoreless first period, with each team registering seven shots on goal.
 
Dressler got his first goal of the game with just over three minutes left in the second on a one-timer from the point. Liam Beaudoin and Keith Davenport were credited with the assists.
 
The Golden Flyers picked up an important second goal from Dressler just :27 into the third on another rip from the point with assists credited to Matt Stanek and Henry McKinney.
 
The lead ballooned to three at the 5:15 mark as McKinney found Ethan Louisos from behind the net for a shot down the middle.
 
The 3-0 lead held until just past the 12 minute mark of the third with the Mustangs finally able to put a goal past Matt Sayles.
 
McKinney sealed the victory with an empty net goal with 1:08 left in the game.
 
Nazareth was 0-4 on the power play on the day, while the Mustangs were 0-3.
 
The Golden Flyers will not play until January 2, when it will travel to Amherst College for a 7 p.m. contest.
