REISTERSTOWN, MD -- Stevenson men's hockey continued its stellar stretch of play with a 5-1 victory to conclude the home portion of the regular season against King's (Pa.) on Friday afternoon. 

Stevenson (18-5-1, 14-3) set a new program mark for consecutive wins with its ninth-straight triumph. The victory sets up a battle for the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship in the regular-season finale between the Mustangs and ninth-ranked Wilkes. 

With a goal and assist, senior captain Ryan Patrick tied the Stevenson all-time career assists mark at 63 held by Dominic Brenza. Patrick was one of eight different players with a point for the Mustangs, including three with multiple points on the afternoon. 

The Mustangs scored four unanswered goals through two periods before King's (Pa.) (5-17-0, 4-12-0) got on the board about midway through the third. Blake Colman passed out two assists and posted a game-best +3 rating for the Mustangs. 

Aidan Graham opened the scoring with just under two minutes left in the first, burying a chance with assists to Chad Watt and Graeme McCrory for a 1-0 Stevenson advantage. The Mustangs continued that momentum into the second with Brendan Rylott slamming home a rebound chance in front at 3:51. Colman and Patrick earned assists on the play, with Patrick tying Dominic Brenza for the most all-time in program history. 

From there, special teams carried the Mustangs to a 4-0 lead through two periods. Alex Rivet continued his sensational debut campaign with his eighth goal of the season, coming unassisted on the power play at 17:38. Patrick provided a big shorthanded tally for Stevenson with a breakaway chance at 18:52, racing up the ice and scoring to chase King's goalie Matt Bidini. 

The Monarchs responded in the third period with a scramble in front as Aaron Frenkel ended the shutout with a marker on the man advantage at 8:47 of the third. Evan Beers concluded the scoring at 12:51 in the third with Watt and Colman adding their second assists of the day. 

GAME NOTES 

• Patrick continues his big stretch to close out the regular season, adding yet another school record to his ledger. He previously set the school's all-time points mark and is now one assist away from becoming the school's all-time assist leader. 
• Stevenson was facing King's for the second time since February 8, a 2-1 road win in overtime for the Mustangs. 
• The Mustangs have won eight games over the past 18 days in the month of February after being forced to backload its schedule because of health and safety protocols. 
• Mac Lowry was strong in the faceoff dot, winning 15 of 19 draws on the day. 
• The Mustangs held the slight 34-32 advantage in shots.
