Arcadia Completes Weekend Sweep Over Alvernia

COLMAR, PA – The Arcadia University men's ice hockey completed the weekend sweep over Alvernia, defeating the Golden Wolves, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at Hatfield Ice Arena.
 
Arcadia improved its record to 5-10-2 overall with the win, and 5-7-2 in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play.
 
Goaltender Fletcher Bolda made a career-high 62 saves in the win.
 
The Knights used four different goal scorers in the victory. Jake Frankenfield, Tyler Kaminski, Kyle Peters and Halen Cookston all found the back of the net.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Alvernia opened the scoring less than four minutes into the game.
  • Peters tied the game at one with a shorthanded goal. The Knights then took the lead with a power play goal scored by Kaminski, which was his first career goal. Frankenfield and Bolda had the assists on the score.
  • The Knights scored two goals in the second period. Cookston extended Arcadia's lead to 3-1. Aaron Hamel assisted on the goal. Frankenfield gave the Knights a 4-1 lead with a power play goal. Donnie Feldman and Mike Kocsis had the helpers on the score.
  • Alvernia scored with 45 seconds left in the second period and with 10 seconds left in the third period, but it was not enough as the Knights hung on to win their second consecutive game.
