COLMAR, PA – Senior Ryan Kenny tallied 23 saves as the Stevenson men's ice hockey team shutout Arcadia 5-0. The Mustangs improve to 11-9-1 overall, 8-5-1 in the UCHC and 8-0 in MAC play. Arcadia falls to 5-12-2 overall, 5-8-2 in the UCHC and 4-4-2 in MAC play.
Stevenson began the game with a strong offensive effort, scoring the first goal on just the fourth Mustangs shot. Stevenson took advantage of the first power play of the game, scoring a goal just 45 seconds into the extra man opportunity when Frank Vitucci found the back of the net. Austin Master and Jack Karlsson added assists on the goal. Ryan Kenny stopped all 10 shots he faced in the opening frame.
Stevenson ripped 22 shots on goal in the second period to just five from Arcadia. The Mustangs deposited their second power play goal of the evening at 4:51 off the stick of Eric Olson. Austin Master provided his second assist of the evening with Liam McCanney adding the secondary assist. Evan Beers extended the Stevenson lead to 3-0 with a goal at the 16:37 mark, assisted by Master and Vitucci. 31 seconds later Jake Roberts added the final marker of the middle period giving the Mustangs a 4-0 lead.
Stevenson carried its scoring trend to the third period, adding a third power play goal of the game at 9:56 when Aidan McDowell scored a goal with an assist from Kyle Lightfoot. Ryan Kenny tallied eight saves in the final period to seal the shutout victory.
