The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is pleased to announce its weekly award winners, released on December 1, 2025, for games played from November 24-November 30. The UCHC weekly awards program highlights the top performances from around the conference over each week of the regular season. It is the fifth UCHC weekly honors release of the 2025-26 season.
UCHC CO-MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sean Melso, SUNY Geneseo, Jr., D, Philadelphia, PA
Melso exploded for a season-high five points on two goals and three assists and was plus-2 in SUNY Geneseo’s 7-3 win over Williams College on Sunday. He opened the scoring 5:33 into the contest and added two first period assists, as the Knights jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period of play. Melso earned his third assist of the game on the power-play early in the third period and closed out the scoring for his second goal and fifth point of the game with 2:55 left in the final stanza.
UCHC CO-MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tyler Schwindt, Elmira, Sr., F, New Hamburg, Ontario
Schwindt tallied seven points on four goals and three assists and fired seven shots on goal in three games for the Soaring Eagles. He exploded for his first collegiate hat-trick and a pair of assists for a five-point night in Elmira’s resounding 10-4 win over King’s College on Friday. Schwindt scored his first goal of the game in the first period and scored power-play goals 4:35 apart midway through the second period, including the eventual game-winning tally. He also assisted on Elmira’s sixth and ninth goals. Schwindt also scored on Saturday against Wilkes.
UCHC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Catrina Chinetti, Manhattanville, Sr., F, Hyde Park, MA
Chinetti scored Manhattanville’s lone goal, a power-play tally 9:04 into the third period, as the Valiants battled in a 4-1 loss to nationally-ranked Bowdoin in the Codfish Bowl Championship game on Sunday. Less than 24 hours earlier, Chinetti scored a key goal in the shootout to help Manhattanville advance to the title game after playing host UMass-Boston to a 1-1 tie through regulation and overtime.
UCHC MEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Dylan Grover, St. John Fisher, Fr., G, Canandaigua, NY
Grover backstopped the Cardinals to a dominant weekend sweep, allowing just two goals across two games in victories over SUNY Brockport and host Castleton, as the Cardinals won the Terry Moran Invitational Tournament at Vermont State Castleton. He turned aside an impressive 62-of-64 shots overall, posting a stellar .966 save percentage. Against Brockport, Grover stopped 27-of-29 shots for a .931 save percentage in a 4-2 win, then followed it up the next day with a flawless 35-save performance against Castleton, recording a perfect 1.000 save percentage as the Cardinals earned a 5-0 win. His shutout versus Castleton also stands as the first in program history.
UCHC WOMEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Olivia Cimorelli, Manhattanville, So., G, West Deptford, NJ
Cimorelli made 47 saves over the weekend as the Valiants finished as runners-up at the 2025 Codfish Bowl, hosted by UMass-Boston. She made 21 saves on 22 shots in Saturday's opening round against UMass Boston, a 1-1 tie, and held the Beacons scoreless in seven of the eight rounds of the shootout to send the Valiants to Sunday's championship game. On Sunday, Cimorelli made 26 saves on 30 shots in a 4-1 loss to nationally-ranked Bowdoin in the championship game. It is her second straight UCHC weekly accolade.
UCHC MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Sam Ciappa, St. John Fisher, Fr., F, Baldwinsville, NY
Ciappa made a major impact this weekend, notching four points on a goal and three assists to help the Cardinals sweep SUNY Brockport and Castleton to help the Cardinals win the Terry Moran Invitational Tournament at Vermont State Castleton. He recorded a goal and an assist in the 4-2 win over Brockport on Friday and added two assists and was plus-2 in the 5-0 victory against Castleton, providing consistent offensive contributions across both games. He leads all UCHC skaters with 16 points over 10 games to date this season.
UCHC WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Jayden Wilder, Manhattanville, Fr., D, Rochester, NH
Wilder helped lead the Valiants to runner-up honors at the Codfish Bowl, hosted by UMass-Boston over the weekend. Wilder blocked a pair of shots and was plus-1 in a 1-1 tie against host UMass-Boston Saturday. The Valiants won an eight-round shootout, 2-1 to advance to the title game against nationally ranked Bowdoin.
