2022-23 UCHC Women’s Championship All-Tournament Team Announced

The UCHC announced its 2022-23 Women’s Championship All-Tournament Team following the title game on Saturday, March 4. Senior forward Ally Watrous of league champion Nazareth College was named the UCHC Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Golden Flyers to their second consecutive league title following a dramatic 3-2 double overtime win over Utica University. Watrous was one of four Nazareth student-athletes to earn All-Tournament Team honors.
 
Nazareth defensemen Julia Holmes and Sydney Swanson, along with forward Abby Flanagan joined Watrous on the All-Tournament Team. Holmes scored a pair of goals during the tournament, including the game-winner in double overtime that vaulted Nazareth to the UCHC title, while Swanson had five assists in three tournament games. Flanagan tallied three goals and two assists, including the game-tying goal with 8.8 seconds left in the championship game that forced overtime. Watrous, the 2023 UCHC Tournament MVP, recording three goals and two assists in the three tournament games, including a goal and 11 shots on goal in the title contest.
 
Junior Angela Hawthorne, senior Erica Sloan and junior Carly Stefanini of UCHC runner-up Utica University were also named to the All-Tournament Team. Hawthorne, the 2023 UCHC Goaltender of the Year, was tremendous in goal for the Pioneers, stopping 93-of-97 shots in the three tournament games, including 48 in the title game. She recorded a .959 save percentage. Sloan, the 2023 UCHC Player of the Year, led all skaters with seven points in three tournament games, while Stefanini had a league-best four goals and two assists in the tournament.

The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is a collaborative effort between eleven institutions to provide a competitive environment and structure for NCAA Division III men's and women's ice hockey in the Eastern United States.
