The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is pleased to announce its weekly award winners, released on December 9, 2024, for games played from December 2-December 8. The UCHC weekly awards program highlights the top performances from around the conference over each week of the regular season. It is the sixth UCHC weekly honors release of the 2024-25 season.
UCHC MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Michael Roby, Chatham, So., F, Bucks County, PA
Roby led the Cougars with four points on two goals and two assists and was plus-5 in a pair of UCHC wins over Manhattanville over the weekend. On Friday, Roby scored twice, including the game-winning goal with two minutes left in regulation and added an assist in a 3-2 victory. He added the primary assist on Camden Smith’s game-winning goal midway through the third period in Saturday’s 2-1 victory.
UCHC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Anabel Lota, Chatham, Jr., F, Guilford, CT
Lota recorded her first three collegiate goals and was plus-4 in Chatham’s 10-1 win over Hilbert on Friday evening. Lota scored goals 3:44 apart in the opening period and completed the hat-trick in the final stanza.
UCHC MEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Adam Harris, SUNY Geneseo, Sr., G, Burlington, Ontario
Harris was sensational in the home-and-home series against No. 3 Utica, stopping 77-of-80 shots, recording a 1.44 goals against average and a .963 save percentage, as the Knights took four points to take over the lead in the UCHC standings. On Friday, Harris stopped 27-of-28 shots in a 1-1 tie against the Pioneers. The following night, Harris made a career-high 50 saves, 17 in the first period, 18 in the second and 15 in the third, as Geneseo earned a 5-2 win in front of a sellout crowd of 4,180 at Utica. Harris, who stopped the final 27 shots he faced Saturday, improved to 6-0-1 on the season and is a key reason why the No. 4 Knights one of two unbeaten teams in Division III this season. He is now a two-time UCHC Goaltender of the Week.
UCHC WOMEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – McKinley Hoff, Nazareth, Gr., G, Anchorage, AK
Hoff picked up a pair of wins over the weekend and now holds the Nazareth record for wins with 51. She recorded a season-high 30 saves in the 2-1 win over No. 12 Trinity on Friday. Hoff added 20 saves in the 3-0 shutout over Wesleyan on Saturday. She recorded a 0.50 goals against average and .980 save percentage over the weekend to earn her third UCHC weekly honor of the season.
UCHC MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Geno Pichora, Chatham, Fr., G, Bethel Park, PA
Pichora led Chatham to a pair of one-goal wins over UCHC foe Manhattanville, stopping 71-of-74 shots, recording a 1.51 goals against average and a .959 save percentage over the weekend. He made 29 saves on 31 shots in a 3-2 win on Friday evening and saved his best for Saturday, stopping 42-of-43 shots in a 2-1 victory over the Valiants Saturday afternoon. Pichora made 12 first period stops, 17 in the second period and 13 in the third period. It is his second UCHC weekly honor of the season.
UCHC WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Olivia Cimorelli, Manhattanville, Fr., G, West Deptford, NJ
Cimorelli enjoyed the best weekend of her young career, posting a 0.48 goals against average and .983 save percentage, stopping 57 of the 58 shots she faced in a weekend series against William Smith. She made 31 saves in Friday's 1-1 tie with the Herons in addition to stopping the first 12 rounds she faced in a 13-round shootout. On Saturday, Cimorelli earned her first collegiate shutout in Saturday's rematch, stopping all 27 saves in a 1-0 win. It is Cimorelli’s second UCHC weekly accolade of the season.
