UCHC Trio in USCHO Division III National Men's Poll; Chatham Enters Top-15 for First Time in Program History

Chatham University is off to a 6-0-0 start and is in the top-15 of the current USCHO.com Division III Men's Ice Hockey national poll, released on Nov. 17, 2025, for the first time in program history. Defending UCHC Champion SUNY Geneseo is currently sixth in the national poll, while Utica University is 10th.

Geneseo opened UCHC play with 4-2 and 5-2 wins over newcomer Albertus Magnus College last weekend. Filip Wiberg, the 2025 UCHC Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player, leads the Knights in scoring with eight points on two goals and six assists this season, while Alex Dameski (four goals, three assists) and Carter Diceman (three goals, four assists) each have seven points. Jacob Torgner is 3-1-1 in net with a 1.77 goals against average and a .939 save percentage.

Utica opened league play by earning 4-1 and 5-2 victories over SUNY Brockport last weekend. winning 3-1 and skating to a 1-1 tie. John Gutt, Drake Morse and Nick Ahern lead the Pioneers in scoring with six points apiece, while Eric Vitale has a team-high four goals, including a hat-trick on Nov. 6 against No. 1 Hobart. 

Chatham is off to a 6-0-0 start, out-scoring opponents, 32-8 this season. Reigning UCHC Player of the Year and Second Team All American Nick Cyprian leads the UCHC with 12 total points on three goals and nine assists. The Cougars also have three more of the top five players in total points for the conference, Jake LaRusso is second with 10, Michael Roby tied for third with 9 and Bekk McClaine tied for fifth with 8. Tyler Samodral, LaRusso and Roby are all tied for second in the conference with four goals, while Cyprian, McClaine and LaRusso take the top three spots for assists.

Junior goaltender Cameron Kuntar leads the UCHC with a goals against average of 1.29 while also leading the conference in save percentage at .958 and saves with 136.

League play continues this weekend, as eight of the nine teams are in action. SUNY Geneseo and Nazareth meet for a home-and-home series Friday and Saturday, first from Tim Horton's Ice Plex in Rochester with the second game at Ira S. Wilson Arena in Geneseo. Utica heads to Manhattanville University for a pair of contests, while Chatham makes the trip to SUNY Brockport for a pair of contest and St. John Fisher University hosts Albertus Magnus for two games.
