UCHC Weekly Awards – February 10, 2025

The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is pleased to announce its weekly award winners, released on February 10, 2025, for games played from February 3– February 9, 2025. The UCHC weekly awards program highlights the top performances from around the conference over each week of the regular season. It is the 12th UCHC weekly honors release of the 2024-25 season. 
 
UCHC MEN’S CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Nick Cyprian, Chatham, Jr., F, Aledo, TX
Cyprian recorded two goals and three assists with a hand in all five Chatham goals over the weekend against No. 2 Utica. He recorded a goal and two assists and was plus-1 in the 3-3 tie against Utica before the Cougars earned the extra point in the shootout. His goal on Friday was the game tying goal in the third period that sent the game into overtime. Cyprian added a goal and an assist on Saturday as well. It is Cyprian’s second straight UCHC weekly accolade.
 
UCHC MEN’S CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Payne Gatewood, SUNY Geneseo, Fr., F, Boulder, CO
Gatewood scored four goals, including both game-winning tallies in helping lead No. 4 SUNY Geneseo to a pair of wins over SUNY Brockport this past weekend. Gatewood scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 7-2 win at Brockport on Friday and posted a hat trick in the Knights home 5-2 victory over the Golden Eagles. All four goals came at even strength, as he was a plus-4 on the weekend.
 
UCHC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Annie Niedermier, Manhattanville, Sr., F, Calgary, Alberta
Niedermier celebrated her senior weekend in style with two goals, an assist, a plus-5 rating, and 30 faceoff wins in the series sweep of Chatham. She recorded her first multi-point game of the season, scoring a goal and dishing out an assist with eight draw wins, blocked shot and plus-5 rating in the 8-1 triumph over the Cougars Friday. On Saturday, Niedermier notched her third goal of the season on Saturday while winning a career-high 22 faceoffs to help the Valiants complete the sweep with a 3-0 win.
 
UCHC MEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – William Billequey, Manhattanville, So., G, Montreal, Quebec
Billequey picked up his fifth win of the season in a 3-2 victory Friday night at Nazareth, stopping 49 of 51 shots against the Golden Flyers. Billequey made 12 first period saves, 20 in the second period and 17 more in the final frame. He stopped the first 34 shots he faced as Manhattanville jumped out to a 3-0 lead. It is Billequey’s third UCHC weekly accolade of the season.
 
UCHC WOMEN’S CO-GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Angela Hawthorne, Utica, Gr., G, Santa Clara, CA
Hawthorne recorded another spectacular weekend in net for the Pioneers, allowing just one goal in each game against No. 15 Nazareth to come away with a 1.02 goals allowed average in 118 minutes of play, making 53 total saves with a .964 save percentage. She made 31 saves in Friday’s 2-1 victory over Nazareth and stopped 22 shots in Saturday’s 1-0 loss. Hawthorne stopped the final 22 shots she faced on Friday, including two in the final seconds to preserve the win. It is her sixth UCHC weekly accolade of the season.
UCHC WOMEN’S CO-GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – McKinley Hoff, Nazareth, Gr., G, Anchorage, AK
Hoff totaled 43 saves on 45 shots in a split weekend with No. 13 Utica. On Friday in the 2-1 loss at Utica, Hoff had 20 saves, 10 of which were in the third period. On Saturday in the 1-0 win, Hoff recorded her 29th career shutout with 23 saves. It is her fifth UCHC weekly accolade of the season.

UCHC MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Joseph Nikac, SUNY Brockport, Fr., F, Mississauga, Ontario
Nikac recorded back-to-back multi-point outings, finishing the week with one goal and three assists for four points, involved in all four SUNY Brockport goals over a pair of games against No. 4 SUNY Geneseo. He had a goal and an assist on Friday and dished out two assists on Saturday.
 
UCHC WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Amy Laskowski, Nazareth, Fr., F, Clarendon Hills, MI
Laskowski had a hand in both of Nazareth's goals, as they split the weekend series against No. 13 Utica. In the 2-1 loss on Friday, Laskowski assisted on Nazareth’s early power play goal. On Saturday, Laskowski scored the only goal of the game on a brilliant rush 8:33 into the second period, as Nazareth earned the 1-0 win. It is her second UCHC weekly honor of the season.
 
ABOUT THE UNITED COLLEGIATE HOCKEY CONFERENCE
The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is a collaborative effort to provide a competitive environment and structure for NCAA Division III men's and women's ice hockey in the Eastern United States.
