UCHC Weekly Awards – January 19, 2026

The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is pleased to announce its weekly award winners, released on January 19, 2026, for games played from January 12 – January 18. The UCHC weekly awards program highlights the top performances from around the conference over each week of the regular season. It is the ninth UCHC weekly honors release of the 2025-26 season. 
 
UCHC CO-MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Lucas Baksay, Manhattanville, Sr., F, Fairfield, CT
Baksay became the fourth player in program history with a four-goal game on Friday, leading Manhattanville to their first ranked win since 2018. Baksay's four goal effort lifted the Valiants past No. 11 SUNY Geneseo in overtime, 4-3. The tallies were his first goals of the year, and he added a pair of faceoff wins and a blocked shot in the victory.
 
UCHC CO-MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Gabriel Lundberg, Utica, Jr., F, Gothenburg, Sweden
Lundberg put together a complete performance in the Pioneers' 9-1 win of Nazareth on Saturday, playing a starring role as the orange and blue stayed undefeated in UCHC play. He found success in multiple facets of the game, scoring two goals and grabbing one assist while dominating in the faceoff circle to help push the team to victory. Lundberg was the lone Pioneer to record multiple goals in the win and saw his only assist contribute to the game's opening goal. In addition to his scoring output, Lundberg captured seven of his nine faceoff opportunities, winning nearly every draw as he set up numerous scores for his linemates. Lundberg was also plus-3 on the evening.

UCHC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Alana Laser, Albertus Magnus, Fr., F, San Jose, CA
Laser tallied the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 3-1 win for Albertus Magnus over Salem State on Saturday afternoon. Laser helped the Falcons to a weekend sweep over Salem State, as they improved to 11-3-1 overall in 2025-26. It is Laser’s second UCHC weekly honor of the season.
 
UCHC MEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Jacob Torgner, SUNY Geneseo, Jr., G, Mjolby, Sweden
Torgner stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 7-0 shutout win for SUNY Geneseo against Manhattanville on Saturday for his second shutout of the season. Torgner now has a .935 save percentage this season and a 1.90 goals against average. It is his third UCHC weekly honor of the season.
 
UCHC WOMEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Olivia Last, Elmira, So., G, Sydney, Australia
Last was excellent between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles in their weekend sweep over William Smith. Last only conceded one goal while recording 46 saves on the weekend, 22 on Friday and 24 on Saturday. Overall, Last stopped 46-of-47 shots on the week for a 0.50 goals against average and a .979 save percentage.
 
UCHC MEN’S CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Brett Boucher, Albertus Magnus, Fr., F, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Boucher scored his first two career goals in weekend sweep over UCHC foe Elmira. Boucher scored one goal and was plus-1 on Friday afternoon, a 5-3 win and duplicated that effort in a 5-1 win over the Soaring Eagles on Saturday.
 
UCHC MEN’S CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Noel Friedman, Chatham, Fr., G, Denver, CO
Friedman backstopped the Cougars to a shutout victory, stopping all 30 shots on goal he faced in a 4-0 win at Horam University. He earned his first career win and shutout after a strong performance, keeping Chatham undefeated in the new year. 
 
UCHC WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Brynn Bacak, St. John Fisher, Fr., G, Williamsville, NY
Bacak turned in a strong performance during a 1-1 week against SUNY Canton, highlighted by her best effort on Saturday. In a 2-1 loss on Thursday, she made 32 saves while allowing two goals for a .941 save percentage. On Saturday, she followed that with a shutout in a 3-0 win, stopping all 42 shots she faced for a perfect 1.000 save percentage. Overall, Bacak stopped 74-of-76 shots on the week for a .974 save percentage. It is her third UCHC weekly honor of the season.
