The six-team 2025 UCHC Men's Hockey Championship Tournament will begin with quarterfinal action on Wednesday, Feb. 26, as No. 4 Chatham University hosts No. 5 Nazareth University at 5:30 p.m. from Alpha Ice Complex and No. 3 Manhattanville University will host No. 6 SUNY Brockport from the Playland Ice Casino at 6 p.m.
Top-seed Utica University and No. 2 SUNY Geneseo will host the two first round winners in semifinal action on Saturday, March 1 with the 2025 UCHC Championship game set for Saturday, March 8. Utica University, ranked No. 3 in the USCHO Division III Men’s Hockey poll, is the top overall seed in the upcoming tournament and will look to win its fourth straight league title, fifth in the last five seasons and sixth overall.

Utica is the No. 3 ranked team in Division III and enters the UCHC Championship Tournament with a 20-3-2 mark, having finished 16-2-2 in UCHC play. The Pioneers are the No. 1 seed in the UCHC Tournament for the eighth straight season. Utica is out-scoring opponents, 107-60 this season and have five players with at least 20 points, 12 with at least 10 points and three players with at least 10 goals this season. The duo of Jakob Breault and Drake Morse both lead the team in scoring with 29 points apiece. Breault has 14 goals and 15 assists, while Morse has 12 goals and 17 assists. Johnny Mulera leads Utica with 15 goals, including eight power-play markers. Aydin Parekh and Matt Wood are tied for the league lead with 20 assists apiece. All-American Brian Scoville is a team-best plus-26. Goaltender Ryan Piros joined the team at the start of the new year and has excelled with an 11-1-1 record, 1.94 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. Piros leads the league in lowest goals against average and is second in save percentage.
SUNY Geneseo is ranked No. 6 nationally and enters its first UCHC tournament with a 20-4-1 overall record, having finished 16-3-1 in league play. The Knights are the highest scoring team in the league and among the national leaders, averaging 4.8 goals per game. Geneseo has tremendous depth, with six players scoring at least 20 points and 16 with at least 10 points. Peter Morgan leads the Knights and is tied for second in the league in scoring with 29 points on 10 goals and 19 assists. Zach Purcell leads Geneseo and is second in the league with 15 goals. Filip Wiberg has 27 points on 12 goals and 15 assists, while Luke Panchisin has 26 points. Sean Melso is one of the highest scoring defensemen in Division III with 24 points and is plus-28 on the season. Goaltenders Adam Harris and Jacob Torgner have split time between the pipes this season, as both have 10 wins. Torgner has a 2.45 goals against average, while Harris leads Geneseo with a .914 save percentage.
2025 UCHC Men’s Quarterfinal Preview Capsules
No. 5 Nazareth at No. 4 Chatham, Wednesday – 5:30 p.m.
Chatham enters the UCHC Tournament having recorded nine wins, including eight in league play. Chatham has seven players with at least 10 points this season, including Nick Cyprian, who leads the league in scoring with 33 points on 13 goals and a league-high 20 assists. Zack Conner has 17 points on six goals and 11 assists, while Michael Roby has 10 goals. In net, Geno Pichora is 9-5-2 with a 3.24 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. He leads the league with 567 saves and 35.4 saves per game.
Nazareth enters the tournament with eight wins on the season, including four over ranked teams. Logan Tobias leads the Golden Flyers in scoring with 27 points on 12 goals and 15 assists, while Liam Quinlivan has 12 assists and 17 points and both Joey Schaefer and Blake Frost have six goals, 10 assists and 16 points. Goaltenders Dylan Wiemer, Lincoln Crosby, and Matt Sayles have split time in net. Wiemer has four wins, a 2.83 goals against average and .905 save percentage to lead the Golden Flyers.
Both teams earned six points apiece in four head-to-head meetings earlier this season, despite Chatham holding a 2-1-1 record. The two teams played to a 3-3 tie in Rochester on Nov. 15 (Chatham won the shootout, 1-0), while Nazareth recorded a 3-1 win the following day. Most recently, Chatham won a pair of overtime decisions on home ice, 3-2 on Jan. 31 and 4-3 on Feb. 1.
No. 6 SUNY Brockport at No. 3 Manhattanville, Wednesday - 6 p.m.
Manhattanville enters the UCHC Tournament having recorded nine wins, including eight in league play. The Valiants have six players with at least 10 points. Nicholas Rogers leads the UCHC with 18 goals on the season and is tied for the team lead in points with Artem Mateichenko at 24. Mateichenko leads the team with 27 points on five 18 assists. Johno Hoins is right behind with 21 points on eight goals and 13 assists. William Billequey and Sebastian Woods have split time in net this season. Billequey has five wins, a 2.56 goals against average and a UCHC-best .931 save percentage.
SUNY Brockport enters its first UCHC tournament with wins in two of its last three games, including a 5-3 road win over Chatham to close out the regular season. Chase Maxwell leads Brockport in scoring with 14 points on six goals and eight assists, while Schuyler Flansburg has a team-high seven goals and Jacob Gates has 10 assists. Cole Hudson and David Filak have played the majority of time in net. Filak has a 3.17 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
Manhattanville won all four regular season meetings between the two schools this season, all in regulation, out-scoring Brockport, 17-10.
