UCHC Weekly Awards – February 3, 2025

The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is pleased to announce its weekly award winners, released on February 3, 2025, for games played from January 27– February 2, 2025. The UCHC weekly awards program highlights the top performances from around the conference over each week of the regular season. It is the 11th UCHC weekly honors release of the 2024-25 season. 
 
UCHC MEN’S CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jakob Breault, Utica, Gr., F, Acton Vale, Quebec
Breault extended Utica’s winning streak to seven games, completing the season sweep over SUNY Brockport with a four-point weekend on the strength of three goals and an assist. Breault also won 31 of his 45 faceoff opportunities and was plus-4 on the weekend. He scored twice and added an assist in Friday’s 7-1 win and scored Utica’s first goal in a 2-1 victory on Saturday night. It is Breault’s second straight and third overall UCHC weekly honor of the season.
 
UCHC MEN’S CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Nick Cyprian, Chatham, Jr., F, Aledo, TX
Cyprian came through in the clutch for Chatham over the weekend, scoring a pair of overtime game-winning goals in consecutive overtime wins over Nazareth University. In the first game of the weekend on Friday, Cyprian had an assist on the Cougars goal to force overtime and then scored the game winner on a breakaway 2:40 into overtime in a 3-2 win. On Saturday, Cyprian once again scored the game winning goal 1:36 into overtime to give the Cougars the 4-3 win.
 
UCHC WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Sydney Gurlea, Nazareth, Jr., F, Breckenridge, CO
Gurlea recorded five points on three goals and two assists and was plus-nine in a weekend sweep over Hilbert College. In the 15-0 win on Friday, Gurlea tallied a goal and an assist and was plus-4. Gurlea added two goals, dished out an assist and was plus-5 in Saturday’s win.
 
UCHC MEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Cole Hudson, SUNY Brockport, Jr., G, Tonawanda, NY
Hudson stopped 85-of-88 shots in just under 96 minutes of action against No. 2 Utica, recording a .966 save percentage and 1.89 goals against average. On Friday, Hudson came on in relief and stopped 36-of-37 shots over the final 37 minutes of play against the Pioneers on home ice. Picking up the start on Saturday at Utica, Hudson would make 49 saves on 51 shots in a 2-1 loss. He made at least 17 saves in four of his five periods played.    
 
UCHC WOMEN’S GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK – Elsa Haakonsen, Manhattanville, Fr., G, Trumbull, CT
Haakonsen saw action in both games last weekend at No. 11 Utica, sporting a 1.32 goals against average with 49 saves on 51 shots faced for a .961 save percentage. She came on in relief on Friday, playing a scoreless 31:20 in the crease with 15 saves. On Saturday, Haakonsen made her second collegiate start and played her first complete game making 34 saves in a 2-0 loss.

UCHC MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Geno Pichora, Chatham, Fr., G, Bethel Park, PA
Pichora helped lead Chatham to consecutive overtime wins this weekend over Nazareth totaling over 124 minutes in goal. He made 69 saves on the weekend, 31 on Friday and 38 on Saturday, including multiple high level saves to keep the Cougars in each game. Pichora recorded a 2.44 goals against average and a .932 save percentage over the weekend, while allowing just two even strength goals. It is Pichora’s fourth UCHC weekly honor of the season.
 
UCHC WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Brooke Terry, Nazareth, Fr., F, Massena, NY
Terry totaled five points on three goals and two assists and was plus-14 in a weekend sweep over Hilbert College. In the 15-0 win on Friday, Terry had two goals and one assist and was plus-6. Terry added another goal and assist and was plus-8 in Saturday’s win.
 
ABOUT THE UNITED COLLEGIATE HOCKEY CONFERENCE
The United Collegiate Hockey Conference is a collaborative effort to provide a competitive environment and structure for NCAA Division III men's and women's ice hockey in the Eastern United States.
